Isle of Wight College

The Isle of Wight College is the only Further Education College serving the Isle of Wight. It is situated at the centre of the Island, in Newport within easy reach of all major Island towns and the "North Island".

The College offers an extensive range of opportunities for full and part-time learners. It provides courses from entry level to Level 4 across a wide range of disciplines. It has close links with local schools and provides a thriving vocational curriculum for 14-16 year olds.

Since 2003 the College has opened, as part of a £10 million redevelopment, a series of new facilities including a nursery, a state-of-the-art block for Art, Design and Media, a new Learning Resources centre and has extended its good facilities in Construction.

In association with a number of partners The Isle of Wight College has Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status in Hospitality and Catering and Residential and Domiciliary Care and has is preparing applications for similar status in Childcare and Marine Industries.

Following an excellent OFSTED report in 2004, the College featured in OFSTED's "particularly successful schools list" (http://www.OFSTED.gov.uk/reports/index.cfm).

Our mission is to place "Students First" and the inspectors noted in their report that "staff share a common purpose of putting students learning and personal development first".
