Newbury College
Newbury College moved to a purpose built site in 2002. The College is set in rural West Berkshire and includes state-of-the art IT facilities, a performance area, specialist workshops, art studios and classrooms with interactive whiteboards. The College has easy access with good road and rail links, and operates a free bus service to and from Newbury Rail Station during term time.
Newbury College has obtained the Training Quality Standard and also holds Matrix and IiP awards.
The College offers a range of full time and part-time courses in most vocational areas for learners from 16 years of age and professional subjects, Higher Education Courses up to Foundation Degree Level and Adult and Community Learning Courses.
There is a wide range of adult courses run in conjunction with West Berkshire Council and leisure courses held at over 50 local community venues. There are also programmes of courses developed for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities and the College is a lead College for Action for Inclusion.
The College provides services for employers including tailor-made courses, apprenticeships and Train to Gain programmes. Newbury College is part a consortium of Thames Valley Colleges offering training to employees in the workplace.
The College has good links with local industry including AWE, Vodafone and Kerridge. We work closely with Reading University who validate our Foundation Degrees and run part time Foundation Degree courses and HNC/HND courses out of the College. We also work with Oxford Brookes University which validates our Teacher Training courses and the University of Winchester for a Foundation Degree in Management.
