Government Office for the South East (GOSE) represents central
government in the South East, particularly the Office of the Deputy

Rural Affairs; the Home Office. GOSE works to influence contract and
develop government programmes and initiatives at a regional and local

JISC Regional Support Centre South East
The
JISC Regional Support Centres exist to support the institutions of the
FE sector, including specialist colleges, to realise their ambitions in
deployment of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) in
order to achieve their institutional mission. The network of JISC
Regional Support Centres will operate as a national service responsive
to local needs through a strong sense of local ownership.

Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) supports further and higher
education by providing strategic guidance, advice and opportunities to
use Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to support

Lifelong Learning UK
Lifelong
Learning UK is the sector skills council for lifelong learning. It is
responsible for workforce planning and for leading professional
development in a workforce of more than 1 million people working in
libraries, archives and information services, work-based learning,
higher education, further education and community learning and
development.
LSC CoVE Guidance
The
CoVE programme is central to the Learning and Skills Council's task of
improving skills for employment and national competitiveness. The
programme is primarily focused on delivering skills at level 3 and will
enable the development, maintenance and delivery of high quality,
specialist provision across a range of vocational areas
National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE)
NIACE is a non-governmental organisation working for more and different adult learners.
Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED)
Ofsted
is a non-ministerial government department established under the
Education (Schools) Act 1992 to take responsibility for the inspection
of all schools in England. Its role also includes the inspection of
local education authorities, teacher training institutions and youth
work. During 2001, Ofsted became responsible for inspecting all 16-19
education and for the regulation of early years childcare, including
childminders.
QAA
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education with responsibility for all HE inspections.
Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA)
QCA
maintains and develops the national curriculum and associated
assessments, tests, and examinations; and accredits and monitors

Regional Action & Involvement in the South East (RAISE)
RAISE is the representative body for Voluntary and Community organisations in South East England.
Sector Skills Development Agency (SSDA)
The
Sector Skills Development Agency (SSDA) funds, supports and champions
the new UK-wide network of influential employer-led Sector Skills
Councils (SSCs).
