Fareham College is situated close to the centre of Fareham, with extensive on-campus parking and excellent transport links – the train station is just a 10 minute walk away, with the bus station a 20 minute walk. Fareham College specialises in the education of 14-19 year old young people. The College offers an extensive choice of courses to suit the academic, applied, technical and vocational needs of learners. With 2,100 full time students, Fareham College offers students more individual attention. Indeed the College has an excellent reputation for looking after the pastoral needs of its students and has a dedicated Health and Wellbeing Coordinator who works with students with serious and complex medical issues.
The College has made a significant investment in its Performing Arts, Music and Media departments which include a performance studio, rehearsal spaces and new Macs. On-site facilities include On-Course Travel, a Job Shop and space for initiatives run by Business students. Fareham College offers 130 full time courses including A-levels as well as Apprenticeships which is helping to boost the skills of the local workforce. Many of these courses can lead directly to University and students who completed their studies in 2011 are going on to institutions such as UWE, St George’s and Oxford Brookes.
The College has continued to improve its exam results in 2011 with the A-level pass rate now being at 99%. A third of students achieved the A* to B grade. BTEC Level 3 results also had a pass rate of 99%.
