Guildford College is set in parkland close to Guildford town centre and has the widest range of courses and qualifications of any college in the county.
Courses range from foundation to degree level in a broad range of subject areas including A Levels, business and professional studies, catering, childcare and healthcare, computing, construction, engineering, hair and beauty, media and photography, motor vehicle, performing arts, teaching, travel and tourism. Success rates are higher than national benchmarks and in July 2009 the College was graded as “good” overall by Ofsted. Inspectors commented that “success rates were well above national averages”, “teaching and learning are good”, “very good academic and pastoral support” and “curriculum enrichment, including work experience, visits and external speakers, is strong”.
The College offers industry standard facilities and resources with professional teaching by industry specialists. It also provides comprehensive support for students. Many students go on to work locally, benefiting the surrounding region with their talents and skills. The College also helps to put Guildford on the international stage with over 1,000 students from outside the UK.
